If you turn the engine off and get out of the car leaving the keys inside it shouldn't lock itself. The only 'self-locking' should be if you are outside the vehicle and lock it, then accidentally unlock it. If you don't open a door within about 30 seconds it will think you didn't mean to unlock and will then re-lock.
