Within every Halo game, there have been many different control layouts to match each players style. Whilst Halo: Combat Evolved only had one set Xbox controller layout PC players were able to remap buttons to their needs. The multiple control schemes were introduced in Halo 3 with schemes such as Default, Southpaw, Left and Recon to name a few.

And if you want the FULL FULL FULL experience you gotta run each game on their respective consoles, so Halo Combat Evolved + Halo 2 on an original Xbox with the OG butt ugly "Duke" controller (not the slim revised one that came out a couple years later) (they also make a throwback Duke for Xbox One/Series X|S which is literally the same thing Well duh it made by microsoft so ya it backward compatible on xbox 360. But i dont think xbox live multiplayer will work if playing game on xbox 360. But thats fine because people probably dont play this 1 online that much anymore cuz it pretty old. Other than that i dont think theres any other probs with playing this on xbox 360. Hope this Halo 1 never had online multiplayer on original Xbox and halo 2 servers were shut down years ago.
