Discussion Hub. pc. SquarishBacon68 January 13, 2022, 6:47pm 1. I used MSFS this morning without any issues. I just went to play again, but I found that the icon for MSFS was no longer on my taskbar. It appears that the sim is no longer on my computer. I then started the sim and found a 115 GB mandatory update.
MSFS on D:\ which is a 235 Gb SSD. When I ran into lack of space I added a new 1 Tb SSD. Of this SSD I allocated only abt 700 Gb to an extra disk, leaving abt 300 Gb unallocated. In disk manager I clicked my D:\ disk and chose the expand option. I told it to use the unallocated 300 Gb to use for expansion.

Under Options > General > Data > Manual Cache, select a new Cache Location different than the one you are currently using (I created a new folder called "Manual Cache). Once you have selected a new folder, the Maximum Overall Cache Size setting will be reset to 0. Set a new size (e.g. smaller), then click Create Cache .
After 10 minutes I force quit the game, deleted the rolling cache and set it back to 8 GB, now it works much better. There is still some performance decrease after leaving PG areas yet not for very long and no more long waits to exit the game. Perhaps disabling it all together is even better…. Personally I'd rather have 6 cores at 5.0 than 8 at 4.8 etc. RAM is unlikely to do much for the game either providing you have at least 16gb. for a now (as for my system) it used ~90% of 1 core, and ~20-40% of other cores. I have 12 6c/12thr Ryzen 5 2600. 16gb ram. The game is very demanding on performance per 1 core.
